Carved from a natural geode, this violet agate point reveals an ultra-druzy heart—glittering, jagged, and raw. A striking fusion of geometry and chaos, it looks like a cathedral sculpted by time, or a fragment of crystallized volcano frozen mid-breath.
Agate is a form of chalcedony that forms from layered silica deposits in volcanic cavities. When these pockets remain open, crystals can slowly grow inside, resulting in mesmerizing geodes like this one.
The name “agate” comes from the river Achates (now Dirillo) in Sicily, where the Greek philosopher Theophrastus—Aristotle’s student—first identified the stone around the 4th century BCE.
